Locked out of the car? We come to the car
Tell us where the car is parked and where the key is. Before we open the door, we ask for something that shows the car is yours.

How we work
We are a mobile locksmith. We come to you.
What this covers
A car lockout is when the keys are in the vehicle, lost nearby, or stuck in the trunk and the doors will not open. It can happen with the ignition off, the battery low, or the lock refusing to turn, and it leaves you dealing with a vehicle you cannot get into. We help with that kind of locked-out situation across south-eastern Pennsylvania, where the issue is the car door, the trunk release, or the lock itself, and the lock needs to be opened for the owner.
How we approach it
We come to you and open the vehicle at the side of the road, in a parking lot, at work, or at home. Each job depends on the car, the lock style, and what is going on with the key or latch. A door that will not respond is different from a trunk that stays shut, and a lock that binds is different from one that is simply locked from the inside. We work on the lock as it is, not as it ought to be, and each one calls for its own approach.
Where it stops
This page does not cover towing, body repair, or electrical faults beyond the lock. It is about opening the locked vehicle and nothing else.
What car lockout covers
Open a locked vehicle for its owner.
Worth knowing
When the vehicle has a visible key cylinder in the outside handle, the work stays at that cylinder and the latch linkage behind it. We look at the barrel, the retaining clip, and the rod or cable that ties the lock to the latch, because those parts change how the door responds. A worn cylinder may sit loose in the handle, while a stiff linkage can hold the latch even after the key side is opened. The trim around the handle and the lock body all matter before the door is opened
Some vehicles use a separate lock on the rear hatch or trunk, and that changes the setup again. We work the hatch lock, the tailgate cylinder, or the latch area itself, depending on which part is keeping the cargo area shut. A hatch with a key cylinder calls for attention to the cylinder housing and the release rod, while a latch-only setup leaves the lock work at the latch assembly. If the door hardware and the rear lock do not match, each one has to be handled on its own side of the vehicle
On some doors, the lock is tied to a manual knob, a pull-up button, or a linkage that sits under the inner handle assembly. In those cases, the lock part at the door skin is not the only piece involved, because the button or knob can hold the latch while the cylinder is opened. We check the lock knob, the handle trim, and the rod that connects to the latch, then work the part that is actually holding the door shut. The hardware on the door decides where the work stays and which lock parts are opened
Car Lockout: questions before you call
What should I tell you if my keys are on the front seat and every door is locked?
Tell us where the keys are and whether the trunk or the rear hatch is unlocked. Also give the vehicle year and body style, and where the car is parked. If a spare key exists somewhere, say where it is, because that can be the quicker answer.
Does it matter that my car uses a push-button start and the fob is locked in the cup holder?
Yes, it matters because a push-button vehicle uses a fob, not a blade key in the ignition. Tell us whether the fob is loose inside the cabin or zipped inside another item. One concrete detail that helps is if it is inside a metal case or signal-blocking pouch, because that can affect how the vehicle reacts once the door is open.
What do I need to have ready if my only key is locked in the cargo area behind the rear seats?
Have the vehicle year, body style, and the exact spot of the key ready to tell us. Also tell us whether the rear seats fold from inside the cabin or only from the cargo area. A small detail like a pull strap on top of the rear seatback can matter when the key is behind that seat.
How can I tell if this is just a car lockout when the outside handle moves but the door stays shut?
It is a car lockout when the problem is getting into the locked vehicle because your usable key or fob is not available outside. If you already have a working key in your hand and the handle still moves without the door opening, tell us that clearly. One concrete detail is whether the same thing happens on the passenger door.
