How we work

We are a mobile locksmith. We come to you.

What this covers

A safe installation means setting a safe in the spot you have chosen and securing it in place so it is ready for use. It can also mean opening a safe for its owner when the lock will not turn or the key will not work. The work depends on the safe, the lock style, and how it is set up now. In a home, office, or shop, the job starts with the safe itself and the way it has been installed or locked.

How we approach it

We handle each safe as its own job. Some are small and straightforward, while others are heavy, built in, or tied to the floor in a way that changes how we work around them. We come to you and look at the safe where it stands, then choose the method that fits that setup. We do not treat every safe the same, because the lock style, the mounting, and the access around it all affect the work.

Where it stops

This page is not about moving a safe, delivering one, or selling one. It also does not cover changing a dial combination, fire ratings, or security classifications. Those are separate concerns from setting up a safe in place or opening one for the owner. We focus on the lock and the safe itself, with the work limited to that side of the job.

What safe installation covers

Fit a safe where the customer wants it, open a safe for its owner.

Worth knowing

A safe is only as secure as the way it is fitted. One that stands loose can be tipped over, walked across the room or carried out, whatever lock is on the door. Fitting it means fixing the body in place where you want it, so it cannot be moved and the door still swings fully open. Before we start, we look at the spot you have chosen, the space around it and the room the door needs to open.

Where it goes matters as much as how it is held. A closet or a corner keeps it out of sight, but you still need to reach the dial or keypad and open the door without moving anything in the way. Think about what will be kept inside and how often you will need it, because a safe that is awkward to reach tends to be left unlocked. Tell us the spot you have in mind and the size of the safe when you call.

The other half of this service is a safe that will not open for its owner. A dead keypad battery, a forgotten code or a key that no longer turns can all leave it shut with your things inside. We open the safe for its owner. We do not move, deliver or sell safes, so the safe needs to be in the room where it will stay before we come to fit it.

Safe Installation: questions before you call

My safe is sitting on carpet in a closet. What decides how you install it there?

The floor under the carpet is what decides it. We need to know whether the safe is over concrete or over a wood subfloor, because the way it is fastened changes with that base. If you can, look at an unfinished area nearby, such as the basement ceiling below that closet, and tell us what the structure is.

What should I tell you on the phone if my safe has bolt holes in the bottom?

Tell us where the holes are and whether you can see them clearly with the door open. A useful detail is the hole count, such as four holes near the corners or two holes centered front to back. Also tell us the safe’s outside size, because a low shelf or tight side wall can limit access to those points.

What do I need to have ready before you install the safe in my office?

Have the safe unlocked and the inside cleared so the fastening points can be reached. If there is a floor mat, loose liner, or removable shelf covering the bottom panel, set that aside first. We may need a clear view of the interior base to line up the mounting points and check the safe body at those spots.

Does the job change if my safe can mount through the back instead of the floor?

Yes, the mounting direction changes the job because the surface behind the safe matters just as much as the safe itself. Tell us whether the back is against drywall, masonry, or wood paneling. A back panel with two factory holes near the lower half is a different setup from a safe that only has holes in the bottom.

How do I know if I need safe installation or safe opening when the door works but it is not secured?

Safe installation is the right service when the door opens now and your concern is fastening the safe in place. Safe opening is a different job for a locked safe that will not open with the code, dial, or key you have. One concrete clue is simple: if you can swing the door open today, the issue is installation, not opening.
