How we work

We are a mobile locksmith. We come to you.

Working across the county

Lancaster County gives us a mix of older farmhouses, town homes, storefronts, offices, shops, warehouses, and newer buildings, and the doors and hardware do not all match. We see rim locks on some older entries, mortise locks in heavier wood doors, and bored cylindrical sets on many newer doors. Commercial work can involve narrow-stile storefront hardware or heavier locksets on metal doors, while homes may have trim deadbolts or multi-point setups. Each place calls for a different way of working at the lock, the keyway, and the door.

The kinds of work here

Across the county, we handle rekeying, lock changes, key breaks, stuck cylinders, lost keys, and lockouts for homes, businesses, and vehicles. A house lock can involve a deadbolt, a knob lock, or a mortise set on an older door. A business door may have a closer, panic hardware, or a keyed lock that sees heavier use. Vehicle work is different again because the door, ignition, and lock cylinder are built around auto hardware, not house or commercial parts, and the approach changes with each one.

How the coverage works

We cover Lancaster County by coming to you and working where the lock, key, or vehicle is. That means homes, storefronts, parking lots, and job sites across the county, with the work matched to the door or vehicle in front of us. Some jobs are on a front door, some on a side entrance, some on an office lock, and some on a car door or ignition. Wherever the lock is, we come to the lock, the key, and the door

Worth knowing

Some towns in Lancaster County have older homes with heavy entry doors, rim locks, and surface-mounted night latches, while others have newer houses with bored cylindrical locks and matching deadbolts. We work on worn knobs that stick, keys that do not turn cleanly, and locks that stay tight after paint or weather moves the door. When a door has a mortise lock set into the slab, the parts fit differently than the hardware on a newer bored door, so we match the work to the lock and open it at the lock.

Commercial doors in the county can be very different from one place to the next. One building may have narrow storefront glass with mortise hardware and a deadbolt, while another uses heavy metal doors with cylindrical locks, closer hardware, and layered trim around the lock body. Some office and back doors also use rim locks that sit on the inside surface and need a different approach than a residential knobset. We deal with latch issues, worn cylinders, and keys that no longer move the bolt cleanly in the lock.

On the automotive side, the differences show up in the way the doors are built and how the lock sits in the handle. Some vehicles use simple keyed handles, while others have tighter cylinders, separate trunk locks, or doors where the keyway has wear that makes the key drag before the lock opens. We handle locked car doors, broken keys, and locks that turn partway and stop. The work changes with the hardware, and we open the lock, then check the cylinder and keyway.
