How we work
We are a mobile locksmith. We come to you.
The call
When a business lock starts dragging, a master key stops turning, or exit hardware feels out of line, the call usually comes after the key has been tried again, the latch has been watched, and the cylinder has already been checked from the outside. In Green Lane, those calls tend to be about a lock that will not open cleanly or a key that no longer matches the wear inside the core. We talk through what is happening at the door so we can match the hardware to the job before we come to you.
What we check first
Before we touch anything, we look at the type of lock, the cylinder style, the keyway, and the condition of the exit hardware. We also check whether the problem sits in the key, the core, the trim, or the way the latch is lining up with the rest of the set. That matters because a worn cylinder calls for a different approach than a damaged master key setup. In Green Lane, the first look tells us whether we are working on a rim lock, a mortise case, or a bored cylindrical set.
The work itself
At the door, we open the lock, separate the parts that need attention, and work on the cylinder, key, or exit hardware that is causing the issue. If the key has been worn down, we compare it against the lock’s condition and adjust the hardware that is affecting the turn. If a master key set is involved, we work through the cylinder change or rekeying steps that fit the existing setup. On a commercial entrance, we keep the focus on the lock body, the core, and the hardware in front of us.
What changes afterwards
Once the work is finished, the change is in the hardware itself. A cylinder may be reset or replaced, a master key pattern may be changed, and an exit device may be adjusted so its parts sit differently inside the assembly. That leaves one piece new and another piece set to the lock it now serves, instead of the worn arrangement that was there before. In Green Lane, that is the part that matters on a business door: the lock, the key, and the exit hardware now matching the setup they share.

Worth knowing
A straightforward lock job is usually a bored cylindrical set with the cylinder held by a simple retaining screw and a tailpiece that lines up cleanly with the latch. We can remove the inside lever, pull the cylinder, match the tailpiece length, and reset the screw without disturbing the rest of the case. It gets awkward when the keyway is worn or the trim is tight around the cylinder, because the retaining screw hides behind the body of the hardware and the parts have to come apart in the right order to reach the lock.
Mortise work is more involved because the lock case sits inside the door and the cylinder, trim, and faceplate all relate to one another. A clean job starts when the cylinder comes out with normal thread and cam engagement and the case opens freely once the trim is off. It gets awkward when the mortise lock has an offset cam, a loose spindle, or a swollen escutcheon that keeps the cylinder from backing out square. Then we have to separate the pieces one at a time and keep the cylinder, rose, and case aligned.
Master key work is straightforward when the cylinders already match in style and the keying change stays inside the pinning of the cylinder. We can pull the core or cylinder, change the keying parts, and put the unit back with the same body and hardware. It gets awkward when several locks on the premises use different rim, mortise, and bored cylindrical sets, because the keys, followers, and tailpieces do not all share the same setup. Exit hardware can add the same kind of trouble when the crossbar or latch sits close to the cylinder in Green Lane.

Questions
My side entrance mortise lock sticks after lunch; can you rekey it for staff changes?
Yes, we can rekey the mortise cylinder and reset the keying so one old key no longer matches. If the cylinder is worn, we can replace it and match it to the rest of your business doors. We also handle master key setups for offices, storage rooms, and shared entrances.
I need a master key for our Green Lane office suite and the rear exit hardware.
We can build a master key system that gives different access levels to the suite and the rear exit hardware. We set up the cylinders so one key opens the needed doors while other keys stay limited. If the current keying is mixed up, we can sort it into a clearer layout.
Our storefront rim lock keeps turning hard, and the key only works halfway now.
We can inspect the rim lock, check the cylinder, and replace worn parts if the key path is rough. If the issue is in the lock body or the keying, we can address that on site. We also service bored cylindrical locks on business doors when the hardware needs to be brought back into line.
When we changed my front office mortise cylinder, which old parts came out and which of my spare keys still mattered?
The cylinder, its old key set, and any worn thumbturn parts came out, and the new cylinder went in with fresh keys. Your spare keys stay with you, and we keep using the ones that match the new lock work and leave out the ones that no longer fit the change in the cylinder.
After we swapped my rear exit hardware, which parts stayed off the door and which of my spare keys were still worth keeping?
The old latch hardware and any worn cylinder parts came out, and the new latch set and cylinder went in. Your spare keys stay with you, and we only keep the ones that still match the new cylinder and the new keyway pattern on that door.
